Introduction

The Department of Political Science at Chandpur Puranbazar Degree College is one of its unique and most prestigious department, which has a rich history of providing quality education .

The teaching activities of this department are not only limited to the traditional classroom teaching method but also this department tries to educate and develop the students in real education by combining various types of modern teaching methods and various types of co-curricular activities.

This department provide a modern learning environment with multimedia classroom, a well-stocked seminar library and a team of qualified & dedicated teachers who always guide and inspire the students for ensuring quality education. The department emphasizes critical thinking, governance and policy analysis, preparing students for careers in educations, public administration, law, research and international relations with a strong academic foundation. The department continues to provide skilled professionals who contribute to national development and global affairs.

Historical Background

Since the establishment of this college in 1981, Political Science was included in the Higher Secondary syllabus. Then the subject was included in the Degree(pass) course . From 2014 the Honours course has been started under National University in the academic year of 2013-14.

Our Honours journey began with only 12 students. But day by day our department is getting rich and popular. Currently our allotted seats are 80(Eighty) and on average more than 60 students are enrolled in each batch.

The vision of the Department of Political Science is to establish this department as a center for acquiring political knowledge and analyzing national and international politics like Plato’s ‘Academy’ , so that our students can acquire the right knowledge and contribute the national and international politics as well as succeed in their careers.
