Introduction

The Department of Economics is one of the most dynamic and vibrant departments of Puran Bazar Degree College. It goes beyond traditional classroom teaching by offering study tours, seminars, cultural events, and both individual and group student presentations. The department provides a modern learning environment with multimedia classrooms, a well-stocked seminar library, and dedicated teachers who guide and inspire students every day. Students are encouraged to actively participate, explore economic concepts, and develop critical thinking skills that prepare them for higher studies and professional careers.

Historical Background

Founded in the academic year 2013–14 with only 10 students, the Department of Economics initially had 50 seats. Over the years, the department has grown steadily and now offers 80 seats with a large and diverse student body. With rich seminar collections, up-to-date learning resources, and a variety of academic programs, the department has become a center for knowledge, innovation, and intellectual growth. Its continuous efforts in providing quality education, skill development, and experiential learning have established the Department of Economics as a vibrant and forward-looking part of Puran Bazar Degree College.
